Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford escape. While the vehicle was idling and preparing to make a left turn, it stalled without warning. The driver powered off the engine, restarted the vehicle, and was able to drive; however, the failure recurred down the road. The driver was able to drive home at 10 mph. The vehicle was later towed to hardy family ford (1255 marietta hwy, galls, ga 30157, (770) 445-8891) where the mechanic drove around the parking lot and stated that the torque converter and transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000. |
