Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford escape. While backing out of a parking space, a loud noise was heard and the vehicle neither moved nor went into any gear. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to have the vehicle towed. The vehicle was towed to gary yeomans ford lincoln (1420 n tomoka farms rd, daytona beach, fl 32124, 386-310-2342) where it was diagnosed that the bushing cable fractured and the entire shifter cable bushing system needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact of nhtsa campaign number: 18v471000 (power train). The manufacturer referred the contact back to the dealer who stated that the recall part was unavailable and referred the contact back to the manufacturer. The contact was then referred to nhtsa.
