Description of the problem | I drove an hour to another city. Upon arrival to the city i stopped the car and got out. I noticed the back, driver side door was open slightly. I went to close it and realized that the door would not stay closed. The latch would not catch the metal piece on the frame of the car to keep the door closed. I could not drive the vehicle without tying the door with a rope to the inside of the car to keep it from flying open while driving. It still will not remain closed as is a major safety hazard for my passengers and other drivers on the road. There was a recall by ford for this exact problem for the make, model, and year of my car, but my specific vin was not included in this recall and my car is experiencing the same problem. I have attached the article stating that this was a recalled issue. If you require any pictures or further documentation please let me know. |
