Description of the problem	I purchased this vehicle new and noticed the bad smell/fumes 5 months later during a road trip. I thought the smell was due to new vehicle. I only notice the smell during hard acceleration, especially when passing on and entering major highways, a strong smell comes through the vents and under the steering column. The smell is like burnt plastic or rubber. It gives me a headache at times. I've taken it to the dealer on several occasions; first it was thought to be the cabin filter needed changing after 10 months of buying the suv new, then it was thought to be clogged air vents which was false, then it was the air freshener that caused it to smell which i removed, and recently i took it to the dealer twice and they had no idea where the smell was coming from, even though the service adviser and mechanic witness the smell/fume. I checked several web sites and discovered other owners of 2014 ford escape are experiencing the same problem. I drive with the window cracked because i'm concerned about my health and my family. This is a very serious issue.
