Description of the problem | We were merging into a very busy intersection and the car wouldn't move suddenly. The engine would rev, but would not move. We put the car in park, shut off the engine, started again and it would lurch forward and go for a couple hundred feet and then die again. We had cars swerving around us at high rates of speed. My wife was crying and terrified. It turns out to be the transmission. I looked online this morning and saw endless complaints about the 2014 escape but no recall. |
