Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2005 ford f-150. While driving at approximately 55 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle lunged forward without warning. The contact stated that when the vehicle was idle, there was a ticking noise coming from the front of the vehicle. The failures recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle consumed excessive oil at an accelerated rate and the vehicle needed an oil change. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 144,500. |
