Description of the problemThe truck when stopping has what is called a slip bump stop. Upon taking off if not fully stopped (light changes) the truck doesn't know what gear to go into. When it does this, the transmission forces it into a gear. When it does this, it chirps the tires and slams the transmission hard almost like a transmission mount is bad. Mounts are still good. Had transmission fluid replaced which was recommended by mechanic and said it would solve the problem. It did not. $160 wasted. It does not do it all the time but after the truck warms up. The slip bump stop which jerks the truck forward when stopping only happens while in gear. However can put in neutral and stop with no problem. I can't figure out what the full cause is. Every mechanic has a different opinion but that gets very costly. The slip bump stop has been an issue with ford for many years and should have been fixed. I know this truck is used and has high miles so i can't get it fixed but it should be a safety concern for ford as the trucks lunge forward when slowing to a stop.
