Description of the problem | While driving down the highway, i turned on the rear window defroster to melt some snow on that window. No cars in sight in either direction. Suddenly there was a load noise (almost like a gunshot). The back sliding window panel on the passenger side blew out. There appeared a hole about the size of a softball. The rest of the same panel was shattered. My wife and i literally jumped. She hollered. At first we thought someone had shot the window. I can only imagine what would have happened if someone was sitting in the back seat in front of the window when it blew. I asked the man who installed the new one and he said he does about 5 of these a year. I checked online, and one website had 104 complaints about the f150 window blowing out. I think this should be checked into. *js |
