Description of the problem	I got a left rear door ajar warning on the dash of my 2014 ford f150 crew cab pick up truck. I would check the door and it was closed properly. Every time i started the truck i would get the warning. I made an appointment with ford to find out why this was happening. On the day of the appointment with ford, i started the truck and heard a buzzing type noice from the rear seat area. I got out to he truck with it running and opened the left rear door to search for the buzzing noise. As i was looking for the noise i started to smell plastic burning, then out of the left pillar between the front and back door smoke started pouring out of where the seat belt goes behind the cover where the seat belt retracts to. Smoke and the smell of the plastic started to fill the cabin area of the truck. I shut the truck off. Within about ten minutes the smoke cleared but the smell of burned plastic was strong. I then had the truck towed to miller ford in lumberton, new jersey. A preliminary report from ford is that the electrical harness in the door post and under the carpet area is melted. I am awaiting to hear from ford the final story at this time.
