Description of the problem | Driving at 55 mph in cruise control. Touched brake to disengage cruise control and pressed accelerator pedal to pass a slow vehicle when pedal went to the floor and engine raced. I had to press brakes with all my might to slow vehicle to 45 mph and it kept climbing and pedal would not come up and engine speed would not slow. Pressed off button for cruise control and nothing changed. Finally after 5 miles heard a pop and the pedal came up and engine speed dropped to idle. Could not stop earlier as 2 lane hwy. With no shoulder. Guard rail and river on right and mountain cliffs on left side. Brought to dealer who could find nothing wrong they stated. |
