Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owned a 2017 ford f-150. The contact stated that while an authorized person was driving approximately 45 -50 mph, they noticed smoke emerging from the rear of the vehicle. The driver exited the vehicle and it spontaneously caught fire. The highway patrol distinguished the fire. The were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot where the vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The contact called the local dealer mossy ford 4919 (4570 mission bay dr, san diego, ca 92109 (858) 273-7500) but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The cause of the failure had not been determined. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000. |
