Description of the problem | My 2017 f150 xlt with less than 23,000 miles has had its oil pan totally replaced for the second time due to gasket problem. First failure was at approximately 7,000 miles. The repairs were done under warranty but it is a reoccurring problem with this model year on lots of other owners trucks. Even ford dealerships who follow the repair work instruction have gotten the trucks back into their shop for reoccurring failures. Both leaks were caught during regular inspection and at normal oil changes done by the authorized ford dealership. This is an significant and expensive repair for a new truck. I am a very concerned owner worried about even more failures in the future. Why no permanent fix or recall? |
