Description of the problem | I was backing into my driveway and stepped on the brake to stop the vehicle and the brake pedal went to the floor - no brakes. I didn't have time to try pumping the brakes or stepping on the emergency brake. The vehicle impacted the garage door damaging it to the point that it needs to be replaced. The replacement cost is $1,833. 33. The vehicle impact points were the plastic parts of the tailgate, bumper and trailer hitch. There was no visible damage to the vehicle. The brakes worked fine again after the incident. I had skyline ford check the brakes and they could not find any trouble codes or problems with the brakes during a test drive. I now don't trust the brakes and am concerned that it could happen again with more severe consequences. |
