Description of the problem | Doors freeze shut in and around door handle so stationary vehicle cannot be entered in cold weather. In other cases the door can be opened but will not latch even though vehicle is in motion. Often vehicle is in motion before it is realized the door is not latched and door has and may swing open while traveling if not held in place by the individuals hand. This problem has occurred at least 6 different days in january and first full week of february 2019 in temperatures below 22 degrees f. To date no injury nor property damage has resulted from this concern. The doors have been treated with deicer along with a strong dose of penetrating oil. This has not cured the problem. |
