Description of the problem | While driving on the highway at 70 mph, if both front wheels hit a bump at the same time, the truck begins to violently shake until the speed is reduced to around 40 mph. This first happened at about 2 years and 40,000 miles. The ford dealership replaced the steering damper and said that would fix the issue. A year later and at 53,000 miles, this began happening again while towing my travel trailer camper. It is about 8,000 lbs and 650 pounds on the hitch. The problem was far worse with the weight distributing hitch than without, however i did experience it twice in about 100 miles on a standard hitch. |
