Description of the problem | 2017 f-250 diesel ford truck started shaking violently after hitting bridge expansion joint traveling 55 mph. Had to suddenly brake and come to almost complete stop to end shaking. Local ford dealer updated software and said "try that, it should be fixed." did not fix it and after repeat of incident, local mechanic determined track bar was worn out at 38k miles. Ford dealer said truck was abused and that is why part wore out. Local mechanic argued truck was not abused. I replaced track bar at my expense. Ford would not warranty parts. Judging by complaints on internet, this is a common problem with this series of ford trucks manufactured during 2017 time period. |
