Description of the problem | I have a 2017 f250 4x4 which has 30,000 miles on it now and is still covered under the factory 3yr/3600 miles and on 9 different occasions while driving over 55mph my truck has began to shake the front end causing loss of control seems to be mostly after hitting a bump in the road or even a when the pavement was uneven each time that this has happened i have been unable to stop the shaking until the truck was below 30mph and last time i was on a 2 lane undivided road the shake caused me to loose control and cross over the center line of the road into the path of on coming traffic, luckily the car coming the other way saw the problem and drove off the road to avoid a head on accident, after the first time it happened i contacted the ford dealer and set up a time to drop it off for service service only to be told that there was a ford motor company tsb 19-2274 and that this has been going on for several years and before this ford also had a tsb 18-2268 then i also found out that before i bought this truck 60 days ago it was in the ford dealer for the same problem and had parts installed that didn't fix it. I have only drove this truck about 1000miles since i have bought it along with my self having this problem when searching the internet i found out that there are hundreds of truck owners having the same problems and that why there has been 2 different tsb issued for this problem most are complaining that after the repair it still does the violent wheel shake or as ford calls it sustained steering wheel oscillation above 45mph. And worst is the parts noted in the tsb is on extended back order and ford gave back the truck and said drive it and we will contact it when the part comes in this is very unsafe the public refers to this as the death wobble and that is truly what it is, my friend has a brand new 2019 with 4k miles on it that he bought new and it also does it. |
