Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2005 ford f-350. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the vehicle would either stall or decelerate to approximately 5 mph. The vehicle was towed to an independent repair shop where they were unable to diagnose the failure. An independent mechanic then examined the vehicle and noticed that there were silver flakes settling in the fuel filter. The independent repair shop was then notified and the contact was informed that the silver flakes were a result of the delamination of the fuel tank. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact was informed that diesel fuel was causing the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. |
