Description of the problem | On several occasions, this vehicle with 19,000 miles on it, gets the "death wobble". The front wheels, & steering wheel, start shaking violently, shaking the whole truck causing loss of control. The steering wheel shakes so violently that you loose grip of it. The truck can't be steered and only by slamming on the brakes to slow down can the violent shaking be stopped. It happens completely randomly. It happened to me at 75 mph, 70 mph, & at 55 mph. I was almost rear-ended every time it happened because i have to slow down in my lane. I took it to ford & they put new parts on but it still does it. Looking online, this appears to be an ongoing safety issue that ford can't figure out how to fix it. All service on my truck has been by the ford dealer, including tire rotations, etc. |
