Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. While driving and attempting to make a turn at approximately 7 mph, the front passenger door opened. The contact had to stop the vehicle and have the passenger hold the door closed. The vehicle was taken to sunrise ford (5435 us-1, ft pierce, fl 34982) where it was diagnosed that the door latch failed and needed replacement. The contact stated that the same dealer replaced all four door latches in 2017 as part of nhtsa campaign number: 16v643000 (latches/locks/linkages), but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the recurrence. The vehicle would have to be repaired at the contact's expense. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000. |
