Description of the problem | This applies to the ford focus electric. I was backing out of my driveway when i heard a load clunk. I instantly felt the power steering fail and the motor cease function (lost all power rendering me immobolized in the middle of the street). The dash displayed the warining "stop safely now". This indicates an electrical fault. Note the battery had a full charge. The symptom persisted. As i was able to drive a few blocks with the same behaviour. I was able to drive the car back to my house and called roadside assistance. I was lucky i was not on the freeway when this happended. |
