Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced an unexpected downshift into neutral. The check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission was defective; however, the remedy was not available due to the part being on a national back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000. Updated 01/11/2017*ct consumer stated car was purchased in 2012 and taken to dealer several times for transmission, felt like it was running over a wash board when accelerating from a stop.
