Description of the problem | "takata recall"my 2013 ford focus at 75,000 miles the car (automatic transmission) would shudder when taking off from a stopped position and eventually progressed to rapidly slipping out of acceleration and acting as if the car was in neutral. Ford replaced the clutches under warranty, problem solved. At 150,900 the transmission failed and ford reported to me that a $900 modulator should fix the problem and maybe the clutch would again need to replaced. My complaint is that this commuter car is a good car with a faulty widely known transmission problem that will probably not be fixed by replacing expensive parts. Ford has stated that it will not help with any of the cost. The dealership that does all the cars maintenance will give 10% off cost. Ford motor company should rectify the faulty transmission problem and provide compensation! |
