Description of the problem | The car is a brand new 2013 ford focus with an automatic transmission. After approximately 450 miles, the car started making a grinding noise in the lower gears - similar to one might hear in a manual transmission if you can't find the gear. In addition, the car stutters/shudders at the start in lower gears. An internet search reveals this is a common problem in the focus which ford seems unwilling to adequately address. While the stuttering/shuddering issue can certainly present safety issues, i'm not sure what the transmission problem relates to. |
