Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. While driving, the rpms became stuck and the vehicle failed to accelerate. In addition, while accelerating from a stop, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact stated that the transmission warning indicator was illuminated, which indicated that the transmission was running hot. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and waited for a minutes without powering off the engine. The transmission indicator illuminated "transmission ready" and the contact was able to drive; however, the failure recurred. The contact called sunset ford (11700 gravois rd, st, louis, mo 63127, (314) 843-4431) and scheduled an appointment. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000. |
