Description of the problemI purchased a 2016 ford focus with 7 miles on it in march 2017. In may 2017, at roughly 4,000 miles, the cars transmission went out, stranding me in missouri on a road trip. A warning light came on and said "stop car now, transmission overheating". Since that time, the car has had 2 new transmissions, and 5-6 new clutches. Each time, it is replaced because the car studders and does not want to engage the transmission. This usually happens at slow speeds, but on a handful of occasions it has done it at highway speed. It has also failed to engage when stopped at lights or stop signs, and then randomly engages and sends my car (and me) flying into an intersection with no warning. I have been told that the new clutch has to "warm up" to the way i drive when it shudders immediately after replacing the clutch, and have been told that it was just the way the car drives, etc. The attached file is from the first repair. I have several more.
