Description of the problem | Vacuum pump failed without any warning. This caused loss of power brakes. Nearly crashed at intersection as i was forced to go through a red light because of the loss of brakes. Upon disassembly of vacuum pump i found that the driver for the vacuum pump was broken off in the camshaft and the pump was seized. This is a major safety issue i believe that if my wife or daughter had been driving we would have surely wrecked. Also i think ford will avoid this issue based in the high cost of repairs. Removing the broken piece from the camshaft amounted to major engine repair. The car wash as at the repair shop several weeks. |
