Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. While driving at unknown speeds, the engine overheated and coolant leaked onto the ground. In addition, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to capitol ford (919 capitol expressway auto mall, san jose, ca 95136, (408) 426-8298) where it was diagnosed that coolant leaked into the engine, and the head gasket, camshaft and timing belt needed to be replaced. The dealer also stated that the cam phasers may be sticking and additional diagnostic testing was needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v209000 (engine and engine cooling). The failure mileage was 64,571. |
