Description of the problem | Loud creaking sound which sounds like parts breaking from lower front area of the car when the steering wheel is turned most of the way to either the left of the right. Ford dealership says it is a sign that the rack & pinion will fail. Sudden loss of the power assist could surprise or overpower the driver, leading to a crash. Breakage of the steering gear might cause loss of steering functionality, leading to a crash as well. |
