Description of the problem | Door flew open while proceeding through a turn at a city intersection. Discovered door latch had broken. Research revealed recall #17v210000 which dealerships refused to repair under the recall notice indicating this car's vin was not included in the notice even though it was specifically for 2014 ford fusion. Upon calling ford customer service, they advised the same but if it happens to another car in the same area, they may issue another recall at which point, they'd refund the repair costs. Recall details indicate a component within the door latches may break resulting in the doors not securing misleading occupants to believe that a door is secure when it is not. Dealer replaced all four door latches at contact's expense. The cost to repair was approximately $350.*dt*jb |
