Description of the problem | While driving car down highway at approx 70 mph, suddenly the brakes stop functioning normaly making it almost impossible to stop vehicle without using emergency brake. Also experience extreme loss of power making it difficult to reach a speed of 35 mph with pedal pushed to floor. Ford dealership diagnosed as vacuum pump. Ford vacuum pump purchased and replaced. Within 3 weeks exact same issue again on interstate. Brakes nearly useless to bring car to a stop, loss of power. Had to have vehicle towed to get it home. Called to question warranty on ford vacuum pump - informed vacuum pump is on "national backorder" and can't even be given an approximate date as to when a new part will be available. Maybe it's time for a recall??? |
