Description of the problem | As i was driving over 70 miles per hour on the highway, the door ajar alert appeared. At that point, i realized that my sons friend had opened the door out of curiosity. The doors lock signal was red which means it was locked however he was able to open the door at 70mph on the highway. This is very unsafe, luckily no one was hurt. The next day i checked the door lock mechanism. When the door is locked on red, it only locks from the outside and any door from the interior can be opened regardless of the speed. I tried this at various speeds in the parking lot. I have three children and this is extremely dangerous. For the time being, i have placed the child lock on the rear doors, however this option is not available to the passenger door. When i lock the door and it is red, it should not be able to open through the interior or exterior of the vehicle. |
