Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford mustang. While driving approximately 10 mph in first gear, the gear shifter would not move to second gear. The contact had to pull over to the side of the road to a complete stop. The contact attempted to drive the vehicle again, but it would not allow him to switch to second gear. The contact forced the gear shifter to fourth gear. The vehicle was driven to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the skip shift was a standard manufacturer feature in all manual transmission vehicles, which allows it to skip second and third gears for less fuel consumption. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000. |
