Description of the problem	There is a known problem with the control modules for the driver safety/assist systems and gm sent a letter indicating that they would repair vehicles that met a certain mileage and age criteria. My vehicle did not meet these criteria. The fault drained my battery and i had to have it replaced and the dealer indicated it could be $5000 to fix all the other issues associated with the faulty control modules. As a result, my wife has now has no blind spot monitoring/indicator, the forward/rear crash monitoring/alert system doesn't function and all of the the other proximity/safety systems don't function either. In addition, other electrical issues are now starting to surface and the garage door opener no longer functions. I am scared that this may lead to a serious electrical malfunction, short, or fire that could cause a serious safety issue. As a result, i recently purchased a new vehicle for her but i am now driving the impacted vehicle.
