Description of the problem | 2015 gmc yukon xl had been in service less than 4 months, only 5000 miles. Driver was driving 65 mph in moderate traffic on interstate 15 when the sunroof spontaneously shattered into tiny pieces. No airborne rocks or other debris was present that could have struck the window. About 4pm, weather was sunny, temperature mid 90's. The sunroof cover was closed which prevented most of the glass shards from entering the vehicle, but did scatter glass shards across the interstate. |
