Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 1999 gmc jimmy. The contact stated when driving at any speed, the vehicle would stall without warning whenever the fuel tank was less than one quarter full. The failure was recurring. The electric fuel pump was replaced by an authorized dealer but the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who replaced the fuel pump three additional times due to the recurring failure. The electric fuel pump was replaced a total of four times but the failure would still recur sporadically. The vehicle would also exhibit a loss of power sporadically after the numerous repairs to the fuel pump. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34000.
