Description of the problem | On july 16th at approximately 3pm we were driving on the pensacola bridge and i ran over something as i had no choice but too. I had 2 friends and there 6month old daughter and my 3 yr old daughter in the vehicle. Not thinking anything was wrong i continued to the airport stayed about and hr with my friends then my daughter and i headed back to niceville. When we arrived at home my husband had to leave for softball so we ran in the house for a few and then left again in the same vehicle. After softball we stopped at the store then proceeded home. Later that night at about 11pm i got up for a glass of water as i opened the bedroom door i could smell gas strongly. I walked through the house and opened the garage door where it was heavily saturated with the smell of gas. I went to get my husband who thought i was crazy after some prodding he went and checked and that was when we discovered the gas tank on our 1999 gmc jimmy was leaking. The next morning he had to be at work at 530 and had no choice but to take the vehicle. When he got home at 6pm wed night we called the dealer we bought it from and they told us to call the service center in ft walton so we did but noone answered. Thurs morning july 18 th i called the preston hood service dept . The vehicle was towed to the service center and i called them to see what the deal ws they said you have a gas leak your gas tank was sliced open by whatever you drove over. I callled general motors to say hey this should not have happend that easy why is there no metal plate covering the gas tank. It should have done damage to my vehicle before it ever got to my gas tank and he was no help he told me if i had not drove over it would not have happend. No kidding. I was trying to tell him it should not have happened that easy and he said you don't even know for sure what you drove over wel l plenty of other cars drove over it too and i am sure it did not split open there gas tank. I wrote them an email and have not heard from .*a |
