Description of the problem | My husband and i stopped at lowes to pick up some items and i decided to wait in our 2006 gmc sierra. We both opened the doors at same time and he locked the vehicle taking the keys with him. I still had my door open and was standing outside the vehicle for several minutes then decided to get back in. When the door shut it was locked and i was unable to unlock any of the doors with the outside temp being 96 degrees it didn't take long before the inside of vehicle heated up with me in there fanning myself to keep cool. Had he not come out of the store within 5 minutes (his cell phone was in the vehicle) of my getting locked inside i would have used the horn to get someone's attention. There is nothing that we could find in the manual that addresses being locked inside. I'm 62 years old and i doubt anyone would think to check on anyone other than a child left alone in a vehicle. |
