Description of the problem | The factory supplied running boards have treads that fail to provide any traction for feet while entering or exiting. The treads need to be rotated 90 degrees and made of a softer rubber with a deeper and more aggressive tread pattern. As they exist they are very slippery especially when wet or frozen. Given the added height of trucks it requires some use of the running boards to enter/exit the truck. Especially when you are 68. As designed and manufactured they are actually an accelerant in slipping feet. I feel they are of defective design and manufacture and could/should be made safer. I fell three times in the past months while exiting my sierra 1500. |
