Description of the problem | I have a 2003 gmc yukon. After having a daytime running light burn out, i removed the lens and found significant charring of the light bulb socket. It was burnt so bad that it mostly crumbled as i tried to remove the old bulb. I took off the other side to check it, and the condition of the socket was the same. Thus, both the left and right daytime running light sockets were burnt. The excessive heat from the bulb also distorted and ruined both of my lenses on the vehicle. I took the car to the dealer for repair and the service technician reported that these cars have lots of problems with heat on these light sockets. I'm shocked by this, and wonder how many car fires have resulted from this problem. |
