Description of the problem | Received notice from honda stating engine warranty extended to 120k miles due to oil consumption, attempted to have vehicle service for oil consumption tests at local dealer (mistlin honda, modesto ca.) was denied by service writer due to not having a check engine light on, i asked why would an engine light go on if i keep topping off oil between oil changes (1-2 quarts) he stated unfortunately he couldn't service it with out a light being on. To my understanding i don't see how a check engine light will be activated if engine is burning oil, unless the engine has gotten damaged due to not having any oil. |
