Description of the problem | Had to replace three ignition coils within about eight months. Then, one of the ones had been replaced (#1 cylinder), developed a problem. Mech tech informed/showed me that plug had fouled - due to possible piston ring problem. Learned from cars. Com that there was a problem with piston rings of 2008 - 2012 accords and honda had offered a special extended warranty to correct them. I was never notified by honda of this corrective action, ergo i missed the eight years and unlimited mileage from the original vehicle-in-service date deadline (car was purchased in june 2010). To replace the engine would cost more than the car is worth. National highway traffic safety administration at 888-327-4236. Reference tsb no. 13-078. Do i have any recourse at all? Is there anything that i can do? |
