Description of the problem | My 2010 honda accord coupe was making a metallic "squealing" sound when i applied the brakes (and, eventually, after applying the brakes). I took my car to the dealer (union park honda in wilmington de) to have the brakes looked at and was told that they needed to be replaced "with an updated factory part". Afterward i saw the numerous complaints about 2008-2009 honda accord rear brake wear after as little as 15,000 miles. My 2010 accord (which was not one of the 2010's included in the class action lawsuit) had almost identical issues. Also of note is that the rear brakes were at 1mm of material left (out of 10mm), while the front brakes were at 7mm (out of 10mm), so this would not indicate wear due to driving conditions. |
