Description of the problem | On my 2010 honda accord, occurring on all four doors, the window sweeps are melting. These are the strips that keep water from running down, into the door wells from the closed windows. The rubber strips were replaced a few years ago under warranty for this problem. Last fall, the new sweeps started to also melt down to a rubbery tar-like consistency. I complained to honda about this defect to no avail. I was told that i would have to pay for new sweeps and for them to be installed. The impression that i received from the service person was that in warmer climate areas this is a problem. It appears that the newer honda vehicles are not suitable for extreme weather conditions and honda is not concerned with the situation. I have had two other older honda vehicles in the past in the same location. Never had this happen. |
