Description of the problem | During low speed driving (approximately 30-40 mph) and squeaking noise was emitting from the right rear tire. Prior to this, the power steering warning light, anti lock brake warning light, anti skid warning light, all illuminated. When the car was diagnosed at dch honda, temecula it was reported that the right rear wheel bearing was broken / falling apart. It was stated by the mechanic that the car would not be safe to drive until the bearing was replaced and that this was covered under the powertrain warranty. However, there was no previous notification (technical bulletins, recalls) on this issue. Drivers beware. The mechanic informed me that there was significant "play" in the rear wheel while attached to the hub. If the bearing came completely undone, the wheel could come off while driving. |
