Description of the problem | When driving the 2013 honda accord this morning at 60 mph for several miles, the power steering problem light lit on the dash and immediately lost all power to turn the steering. After another mile or so, and barely being able to turn the vehicle, the car was turned off and then back on. This must have reset the component as the light was off and steering was back to normal. Fortunately, the car was not in a turn when this occurred as it may have caused a serious accident. 2 hours later, i was at the dealer and was advised that they would change out the rack for $1700. This part has a 3 year / 36k warranty. My car is 2 years old but with 58k miles (highway). A rack should last far longer than 2 years, plus with the new technology, honda should be willing to fix it to learn to keep it from happening on future models. |
