 Description of the problemWhen starting car initially in the mornings and driving car in reverse with only braking and not applying any gas, after the first 10 feet in reverse the engine will rev up by itself and then stabilize, or engine will gulp air with engine jerking, or engine will rev up very high with the final last sound of clashing metal between the engine/transmission and the engine dying on the spot. These problems only occur with the initial starting of the car and only in reverse. The car functions normally after the events described above. The car is always garaged. The engine behavior described is intermittent and unpredicatable. Clashing metal and stopping of engine last occurred july 26, 2017.
