Description of the problem | 2nd occurence-while driving up a hill at approximately 30 mph the warnings for brake system failure, acc, lane departure mitigationand collision detection came on. The first time it happened i was told that the sensor had been dislodged. This time they are saying that there is a crack in the tail light assembly which set off the warning system. The braking system and a new brake assembly is needed. The brake lights work fine. Even if they were both controlled by the same computer, the brake lights are on an output from the computer or pedal switch. The warning seems to indicate there might be problem with the sensor which would be an input system. Control, sensors, and indication systems have separate electrical paths even if managed by the same computer. So their "diagnosis" seems highly unlikely. |
