Description of the problem | I was driving on the freeway and the engine began losing power. Soon after, multiple warning lights on the dash lit up. I barely had enough power to clear the busy freeway. The car was towed to autonation honda in chandler, az, where the technician discovered fuel in the oil. He said honda was aware of the problem on this 1. 5 turbo engine, but no fix existed. He changed the oil and released the car back to me. After just a few minutes online, i discovered the history of this particular engine issue. I know honda says it only happens in cold climates, but that day was over 100 degrees f. Also, the oil had been changed at the same dealership approx. 6 weeks earlier and only 619 miles before the event. I am now afraid to drive it at night or on the freeway in case this happens again. |
