Description of the problem | Takata recall after it became clear that our car was included in the recall, i contacted our local dealer (manchester honda, manchester, ct) on february 9, 2016, to schedule the requisite repair. I was told that the replacement inflators were unavailable, with no timetable for arrival, and that we would be contacted by the dealership when the inflators were received. We have yet to hear from them. From what i can tell, we are in the relatively low-danger "zone c", but 14 months still seems an inordinately long time to wait for so critical a safety-related repair. Beyond that, it remains unclear whether both front airbags are to receive new inflators or just that on the driver's side. The dealership representative to whom i spoke seemed unable to even understand the question, let alone answer it. |
